Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency you have to manually vacuum. Find one that has excellent navigation, is able to clean corners and stairs and also has a large dust bin that needs emptying only every few times.
There are models that mop and charge themselves this is an option important for families with children or pets. The top performers in our tests have great obstacles to avoid.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a great choice for people who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin as it gets full.
Both robots excel at picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we test the i3+ does not have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions like from hardwood to rug.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. best home vacuum cleaner should also keep the filters and dust bin clean to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. Battery life is about an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and vacuum an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. When connected, we were able to give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households and can fit perfectly next to the table for a coffee or a bookshelf that you can spin around like a magic tool.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets, and then pick up large dust or crumbs. It has three suction modes to suit the task that is being completed. It is able to quickly switch between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.
This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours and offers an easy access to two attachments as well as an Wand clip. This is a big improvement over earlier Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are a pain to store.
The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. Its claims on the market that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a home that's average size but not long enough to cover every area (though the second time around usually does the trick). However, this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of the most well-known robot vacuums the 694 is a basic model that's a good choice for people who don't want to spend too much on a robotic. It was able to remove most types of debris and sizes in our tests, and frequently went over the same area several times to give a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows to get into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice touch.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models such as our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and often runs out of battery power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects, as it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels more sturdy, has a more powerful motor, and works better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a greater variety of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name that is found on all kinds of electronic gadgets for your home, so it comes as no surprise that they're also one of the most reputable robotic vacuum and mop makers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacles avoidance.
The app offers a variety of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested, which might be a problem for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that can be accessed via the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or the kids if you're away from home. The filter and dustbin can be washed to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that's self-emptying to keep the robot's dustbin clean and maximizes suction power for each cleaning.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Contrary to other robotic vacuums which are designed for both hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. The robots have an extra-wide cleaning path, as well as dust bins that are 2X bigger than the competitors. This allows them to clean the area for a longer period of time. They also come with two side sweepers to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which can tell if it's picking up surface litter or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts the power level. It also includes a smart application that lets you view the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. You can also monitor the vacuum's battery status and send it back to its dock to charge at the touch of a button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it's stuck.
The app also makes it simple to steer the robot manually if needed. For instance, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that tends to trip up some of the other robots I've tested. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to create weekly cleaning schedules is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
